911 Readings to students in honor of September 11

Lisa Strain, the Volunteer Manager for a non-profit organization called RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Central Arkansas and her amazing volunteers visited Gardner STEM today!
All members of RSVP of Central Arkansas are 55 and over. One of the programs they do every year is to go into the local Elementary schools during the week of 911 with their volunteers and read books that honor the heroes of that horrific tragedy to the different grades.

The way that it works is that the schools choose the date and time and grades that they would like for RSVP of Central Arkansas to read to. They read to Grades Pre-K - 5th Grade. They can read to all the classes in one grade at the same time or go from class to class and read grade appropriate books. They can also only read to certain classes in the school, all of that is up to the school and their teachers.

Gardner is very excited to have this opportunity and would like to say a huge THANK YOU to the guests who came today to talk, read, and share with our students from RSVP of Central Arkansas!!!
